Chairman of the Board of Directors
Lou has extensive experience in the service industry stemming from a firm foundation of management, customer service, sales and marketing together with hands-on electro-mechanical/PCB design early in his career. Lou founded, co-founded and managed several successful design and manufacturing businesses in North America and offshore over the past 30 years. A partner, co-founder and Vice President at Alternate Circuit Design Technologies in 1985, Principal owner and Director of Mosher Design Services 1995, Co-founder and Director of e2E Corporation in 2000. Co-founder and Chairman of Freedom CAD in 2003 to present. Co-founded, Freedom CAD Services Ethiopia LLC, Chairman, Board of Directors. Ten years plus of International experience negotiating and partnering with Ethiopia, Mexico, China and India.
Lou’s responsibilities are executive and strategic planning, financial stability and business development. Lou is an entrepreneur, recognizing and negotiation opportunities in the service businesses.
President, Member of the Board of Directors
Lauren holds a degree in Psychology and Sociology. She has served as a Principal employee and Founder for several PCB design companies in our industry for the past 25+ years. With the experience of her past positions as the Operations Manager Lauren has the depth of knowledge to get the job done on time with the highest quality. Lauren was a founder and principal of Mosher Design Services that was acquired by Praegitzer Industries and a founder in e2E Corporation that was acquired by Plexus Corporation. She has extensive experience in technical operations with a reputation for being a great communicator and an efficient, knowledgeable designer. Lauren possesses the necessary skills to direct the operations of Freedom CAD, with primary emphasis on streamlining operations and implementing technical and cost-saving alternatives.
James (Eddie) Broyles, Jr.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Eddie brings over 30 years of experience in the Electronics Design Industry and has spent the last 16 years holding management positions responsible for Hardware Design, PCB Design, and DFx services. Before coming to FCS, Eddie held several leadership positions that ranged from Design Services Manager to his most recent position as Director of Engineering with Solectron Corporation. His responsibilities included managing the staff and the business P&L for Solectron’s Americas regional engineering teams that consisted of Hardware Development, PCB Layout, Test Development, and DFx Services. Previous to Solectron, Eddie spent 16 years in the OEM design business with Texas Instruments and Sperry Unisys.
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Scott has over 37 years of experience in the electronics industry. His experience includes connector and printed circuit board design, fabrication and assembly. His resume includes various responsibilities included Global Account Management, Sales Management and Product Marketing with Berg Electronics, Litton/Winchester and Teradyne Connections Systems, prior to joining Freedom CAD in 2004. As COO, Scott’s responsibilities at Freedom CAD include overseeing the daily Operations, Sales and Marketing activities.
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Don has over 30 years in the electronics industry. His background includes industrial controls and design automation solutions designing products with DSP and embedded processors while working for Texas Instruments. He also has experience in the CM business working for Solectron Corporation. Assignments included improvement of manufacturing test processes, managing a New Product Introduction manufacturing line that supported existing and new customers, and creating a design team that worked as an extension of the customer’s engineering team. His experience also includes high speed signal design designing products with OC192 and InfiniBand technologies.
Director of Sales & Marketing
Scott’s experience spans over 4 decades in the PCB industry. He co-founded McCurdy Circuits in 1968 and over the next 32 years grew it to a respected $30M multilayer manufacturer in Anaheim, CA. He spent three years as western regional sales manager for a mid-west EMS company, which expanded his manufacturing experience. His passion for Design for Manufacturability led him to become president of the IPC Designers Council – Orange County chapter where under his leadership has grown it to the largest chapter in the country. Scott led the design sales efforts at Jardon Engineering before joining Freedom CAD in 2007. He was instrumental in launching our fab & assembly services and building a strong design and manufacturing West Coast customer base.
Director of Operations
Pat holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and International Business from Southern New Hampshire University. After beginning his career with Freedom CAD, he spent 6 years as a PCB designer with a focus on supporting high speed, high density layouts for industries including Medical, Telecom, Data Storage, and Military, amongst others. Some of his current responsibilities include management of resources, compliance to company processes and procedures, and ensuring customer satisfaction is met for quality, budget, and schedule. Pat has also been responsible for developing and implementing a training program for new employees.
Director of Business & Compliance
Brian holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Bryant University. Brian has over 10 years of experience working in the PCB Design and Manufacturing industry. Prior to joining Freedom CAD in 2006, he worked as the Sales Account Executive for Ricoh Business Solutions in Northern Massachusetts. Brian founded and operated a successful graphic and website design business, Concept 9, from 2006 – 2013. He brings with him a strong knowledge of project management, PCB manufacturing, information technology, and compliance. His responsibilities include overseeing that the company adheres to applicable legal standards and enforcing company policies, ITAR compliance, ISO9001-2015 standards, best practices, and regulations across all aspects and levels of the business. He is also responsible for managing Freedom CAD’s prototype manufacturing services.
Director of Design Support Services
Rich has 30 years of experience in the circuit board manufacturing and design industry. After eight years supporting assembly on the manufacturing floor at IBM, he began specializing in new product introduction, especially design for manufacturing. After moving to Solectron, his DFM work was primarily done using Valor Trilogy. Rich was one of the key contributors to Solectron’s Trilogy development, deployment, and training. He co-authored Solectron’s design guidelines which were the ground rules for the Valor checks. He continued that work after Flextronics acquired Solectron. At Freedom CAD, Rich has brought his manufacturing experience to the PCB layout stage, helping to ensure high quality, manufacturable designs. Rich has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering from Georgia Tech and the University of Wisconsin.
Business Development Manager
Bill brings a variety of experience, including degrees in Electronic Engineering, Psychology and Sociology (UK), Criminal Justice (USA), also, Music in The Royal Academy of Music (UK) and has spent some time as a professional rock musician in his younger years. Bill has lived in four different Countries; England, Spain, France, and for the past seventeen years as a Citizen of the USA. He established and managed a global, tier one, Design Services Company for several decades as CEO of AcAe with facilities in England, Germany and the USA providing Premium CAD Services. Joining Freedom CAD as Vice President brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Design Services Manager
Roland has been in the Electronics Manufacturing and Design Industry since 1979. He has been a member of the IPC Designers Council since 1982. He joined Tek-Art Associates, in 1979. During that time, his path took him from the drafting field, onto the QA department, then Operations. After Tek-Art 1990, he was at a PCB Manufacturing facility in Haverhill MA, Applied Circuits. His main task there was CAMCAD setup. Five years later he joined Mosher Design Services as a minority owner. Mosher Design was acquired by Praegitzer Industries, later by Tyco Electronics, transitioning him into e2E Corporation. Plexus acquired e2E. Roland is a founder of Freedom CAD Services. Presently, Roland is the Design Services Manager. He is responsible for front end/back end processing. Duties include, Library, database creation, and archiving. He is also the back up for QA and Valor.
